Abia state police command has confirmed through the Police Public relations Officer, Ogbonna Geoffrey that some yet-to-be-identified gunmen have kidnapped the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu Uche along Ihube Okigwe Umunneochi express way.
The prelate was kidnapped alongside Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri, and the Prelate’s Chaplain on Sunday afternoon.
Ogbonna added that the prelate was kidnapped around 1:30 to 2pm in the afternoon while they were going for church service.
The police spokesperson said they have mobilized their tactical teams to ensure the safe release of the prelate and possibly arrest the culprits.
