Just in: Gov Ikpeazu Releases 3.2 Billion Naira To Clear Arrears of Parastatals, Pensioners

Pensioners and workers of Parastatals will rejoice this Christmas celebration as Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has released three billion point two billion naira to offset the arrears of parastatals and pensioners in the state.
Abia State commissioner for information, Eze Chikamnayo disclosed this while briefing newsmen at government house Umuahia from the document “Jubilation in Abia as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Release Funds for the Payment of Workers in Various Parastatals . 
Chikamnayo who announced that Ikpeazu is not owing any civil servant in the state, added that the state will not collapse when the leaders of the parastatals hire more than the work force that can pay.
The information commissioner flanked by his counterpart in charge of documentations and strategic communications, Ugochukwu Emezue and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka,  said the governor released 828 million naira for the payment of the salary arrears of Abia State hospital management board workers as well as the sum of 983 million naira for the salary arrears of secondary school teachers.

The governor released 12 months arrears for Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu, ASCETA, 4 months subvention for Abia State Polytechnic Aba, 520 million naira for Abia Pensioners and 2 months subvention for Abia State University Teaching Hospital, ABSUTH.
According to Chikamnayo, Abia State University Uturu, got 3 months subvention, while College of Technology Aba got 5 months subvention and 200 million Grant facilitate relocation to permanent site.
He revealed that these payments commenced Thursday December 9th, 2021 and advised that the management of the various parastatals to always ensure strict compliance and pay the workers accordingly.
Eze Chikamnayo however promised to make public the out come of the verification going on at the local government level and warned that the state government would not tolerate any institute employing all kinds of people without former approval.
