Onyeije Insists He Won Arochukwu/Ohafia APC Reps Primary

A frontline aspirant for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Dr. Onyeije Onuoha Kalu, has insisted that he emerged winner of the APC primary election held on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Speaking after the exercise, Dr. Onyeije said the results from both Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas showed that he won the majority of the wards in the constituency.

According to him, he secured victory in eight out of the 11 wards in Arochukwu LGA and seven out of the 11 wards in Ohafia LGA, giving him a total of 15 out of the 22 wards in the federal constituency.

“I won 15 out of the 22 wards across the two local governments that make up the federal constituency. I am the winner,” he declared.

The aspirant thanked the people of Arochukwu and Ohafia for their support, trust and confidence throughout the primary election process.

He also commended party leaders for ensuring that the exercise was peaceful and orderly, while stating that he would continue consultations with party members and stakeholders in the constituency.

Dr. Onyeije further urged APC members to support Chief Henry Ikoh, whom he described as a successful industrialist with the experience needed to transform Abia State.

According to him, building and sustaining industries requires experience and commitment, noting that Chief Ikoh has created employment opportunities for many people through his business ventures, as the producer of harmony foam.

He added that the party should uphold the rule of law while the outcome of the primary election is being reviewed by the relevant committee.
