PROF OGBULU PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR NEW ARMY COMMANDING OFFICER TO CURB INSECURITY

The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu has pledged the total support of his administration in the fight against all security challenges within the University community and its environs.
Professor Ogbulu made the pledge while receiving the new army Commanding Officer 143 Battalion Ovim Isiukwuato, Lt. Col.Timothy Okundayo in his office, expressed confidence that God will grant the officer and his men the wisdom and grace to restrategize and come up with new measures to tackle the insecurity challenges of kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and other forms of criminality within the area.
He commended his predecessor Lt. Col. Umar Abdullahi Iliyasu who he described as a committed and gallant officer whose efforts in providing security within the University community yielded tremendous success.
Responding, the new army commanding officer Lt. Col. Timothy Okundayo while appreciating the Vice-Chancellor and management for the warm reception promised to build on the success of his predecessor and collaborate with other security agencies to increase surveillance within and around the University community.
