Senate President Commissions Numerous Projects in Abia North, Promises to Attract More

The Senate president, Ahmed Lawan has commissioned two kilo meters Nvurunvu road in Uturu, Isukwuato, two kilo metres Agbo Amaorji lodu Imenyi road, in Bende LGA, four kilo metres Ugwu Rubber Amaokwe Item road, two kilo metres Amibo Acha road Isukwuato including other projects within Abia North Senatorial district.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at various locations of the projects, Lawan acknowledged the importance of access roads for farmers to transport their goods and applauded the Senate Chief Whip for putting the growth of his people at heart. 
While affirming that the roads would attract developments to their areas, the chairman of the national assembly said rural development helps to drive rural growth. He urged the beneficiaries of the road projects to reciprocate what senator Orji Uzor Kalu has done for them at the appropriate time. Lawal described Bishop Sunday Onuoha as a man of peace in Nigeria and beyond the shores of the country.
Earlier speaking, the Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu appreciated the Senate president for assisting him in facilitating the projects and pledged to continue supporting him do better.
Senator Kalu also urged the Senate president to consider the request of Item people to ensure second reading of  the university of health technology.
His words,”I have done other projects in Item. The ugwu rubber is not the only project I have done”.
“Your excellency what you should do is to ensure that the university gets second reading”.
Highpoints of the event were presentation of gifts to the Senate president and chieftaincy titles by the traditional rulers.
