As the 2027 Abia State House of Assembly election approaches, the people of Umuahia South State Constituency have been urged to prioritise service, competence and proven performance over political sentiments.
In a political environment where promises can sometimes take precedence over performance, the constituency deserves a different standard service before politics, results before rhetoric and competence before party sentiment.
Ifeanyichukwu Kingsley Ekwuribe, popularly known as IKE, has been presented as a candidate whose philosophy places service above politics. His supporters point to his record of interventions and community projects as evidence that effective leadership should be measured by tangible impact rather than political titles or speeches.
According to his supporters, representation goes beyond attending plenary sessions at the State House of Assembly. It involves attracting development to the constituency, championing the interests of the people, empowering communities and remaining accessible and responsive to constituents.
They argue that at a time when Umuahia South requires purposeful advocacy and effective representation, the choice of representative should be guided by experience, competence, track record and demonstrated commitment to the people.
The 2027 election, they said, provides an opportunity for the constituency to embrace a new standard of politics one in which service comes first and political ambition comes second.
“If leadership is truly about the people, then the candidate with a demonstrated record of serving the people deserves serious consideration,” the supporters said.
They described Ekwuribe’s political philosophy as one anchored on “Service Above Politics, Experience Above Excuses and Results Above Rhetoric.”

Responding to the question of why he would support Ifeanyichukwu Kingsley Ekwuribe for Umuahia South State Constituency, one of his supporters said the answer was straightforward.
He said Ekwuribe brings experience, consistency and a proven record of service to the contest.
According to him, Ekwuribe’s years of public service have equipped him with the experience to understand the challenges facing the people and the capacity to represent their interests effectively.
He added that Ekwuribe’s achievements and contributions were not merely claims, but accomplishments that residents had witnessed and experienced.
“This is something even a child in Umuahia South can testify to,” he said, describing Ekwuribe as an experienced and results-oriented leader.
The supporter therefore called on the people of Umuahia South to consider Ekwuribe’s record and experience as they make their choice ahead of the 2027 election.
