A power packed and also spirit filled event tagged holy-ghost congress 2023 on the theme “Higher Ground” has ended with a charge on Christians to give themselves totally to God.
The congress, which started on Tuesday 3rd to Sunday 8th October, 2023 was put together by Holy Ghost Day Bible Church international located at Amuzukwu, and featured the general board member, church of God in Christ USA, Bishop Elijah Hankerson and Prelate Church of God in purity diocese, Bishop Dr Newlife Ugochukwu.
Speaking at the grand finale, the host and chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Abia State chapter, Arch-bishop Dr Chikezie Elekwa who spoke on the topic, “journey to the higher ground” described higher ground as a place of authority which also depicts success.
Drawing references from 1st Corinthians chapter 3 verse 2 and Exodus chapter 24 verse 12, Arch-bishop Elekwa urged Christians to step up their relationship with God, despite the challenges they are facing in Nigeria.
He observed that things are not the way it ought to be, but encouraged everyone to pay attention to God’s directives
“So I am encouraging believers and people not to be perturbed by the situation in the country, but look up to God who elevates people to the higher ground”.
In his message, the Methodist Arch-bishop of Umuahia diocese, his Grace, most Reverend Dr Chibuzo Opoko noted that the greatest higher ground is to embrace Jesus, stressing that one must have the right attitude like Jesus to be on higher ground.
Arch-bishop Opoko who drew points from Psalm 24, verses 3 to 5, charged the congregation to learn the principles of attaining higher ground, hence one must be pure in heart and do away from unholy actions.
Archi-biship Opoko who was practical in his message, advised believers to eschew sin and embrace Jesus for better direction.
