We Have Redesigned Plans to Finish Road Projects in Aba: Governor Ikpeazu

Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu says ninety five percent of roads his administration completed in Aba with rigid cement pavement technology are still standing strong and assured that his administration would continue to deliver quality jobs.
Governor Ikpeazu stated this Wednesday 24th November, 2021 while briefing journalists at the Governors lodge, Aba also said that those roads completed in Aba and other parts of the state were built with drainages on both sides.
The governor denied that six billion naira was paid for faulks road, adding that his interest on faulks road is strategic and will cut across other adjoining roads .
According to governor Ikpeazu, the sum of one billion naira was paid to contractor to deliver one lane end to end in port Harcourt road, pledging that another money would be paid to make it two lanes with drainages end to end before the expiration of his administration
He explained that the failed portions in faulks road that led to Ariaria was caused by the activities of business owners (tilers) who came pleading to him to open one side of the road, because the entire faulks was closed by the contractor who had not handed over the road, assuring that they will deploy rigid cement pavement technology to complete the failed portions. According to him, the interest of his government in faulks road is anchored on its strategic relevance to the economy of the State.
He reiterated that the road was not completed and handed over to the government by the contractor and as such, it was impossible for such amount to have been paid.
The governor further promised that the Osisioma fly over would be delivered within this dry season and also listed roads in Aba in his dashboard that would receive attention.
The governor maintained that Ngwa road and it’s aixs would also receive attention, saying that his administration has planned properly, redesigned themselves to enable them release sufficient money to contractors this period of the dry season.
Governor Ikpeazu disclosed that he has been doing roads in Aba  in strategic  clusters to enhance the economy of the State, adding that such roads as Ehere, Ukaegbu and Umuola, Owerrinta, Ochefu and Weeks as well as the Osusu and ongoing Omuma and Faulks roads will all be completed within the windows of the dry season.
He announced that the state may consider to take a legal action over the negligence of Eke-Akpara road housing NNPC facility abandoned by a federal contractor that has over six billion plus to do the road, but chased out the Abia contractor that was approved 3.5 billion naira to even do the road better.
Governor Ikpeazu however, allergies that there is a deliberate attempt to hamper the economy of Abia by the federal government because almost all the federal roads leading to Abia are in comatos form, if not his efforts to construct alternative roads that enable business owners across Nigeria to patronize Abia products.
