A political group known as Abia Movement for Victory has disclosed it resolved to work with Bishop Sunday Onuoha, African Democratic Congress, ADC Gubernatorial Candidate for the development of Abia State.
The group made this decision in Umuahia, when they adopted Bishop Onuoha as their candidate for the year 2023 guber election.
The Abia State Coordinator of the Movement, Mr. Uche Ibekwe Agbara stated that their aim was not only to ensure that poverty is eradicated from Abia state, but to help ensure that Abia measures up with neighbouring states like Ebonyi in the area of human, economic and infrastructural development.
He said that the group is hungry to witness appreciable infrastructures and good governance in Abia.
Ibekwe further decried that previous governments failed to fulfill their campaign promises but expressed optimism that with Bishop Onuoha, Abians will smile again.
Responding, the Governorship candidate of ADC, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha recalled that the former Governors, Orji Uzor Kalu who served the state was a business man, an administrator, Theodore Orji has come and gone, with present governor an academician serving and now it is the time for Abians to support an academecian and God’s servant to govern the state.
He maintained that a new Abia is possible with the support of eligible voters.
Bishop Onuoha went down memory lane to recalled that the founding fathers named the state “Abia” during one of their meetings in the Church, but regretted that the activities in the state does not promote or represent the name, “God’s own state”.
He promised to entrench and elevate the state where people will feel loved, as well discourage hatred.
Bishop Onuoha promised to work with Abia movement for victory and advised that eligible citizens who do not have their permanent voters card should do so.
