Women of Assemblies of God Church Oloko Proper in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State on Sunday joined others on Sunday 12th May, 2024 across Nigeria to celebrate Mothering Sunday on the theme, “we are children of light”.
In her sermon, on the theme, “the children of light” Pastor Mrs Favour Chinedu charged women to show difference with good character everywhere they find themselves.
While reading psalm 119, Pastor Favour urged women to shine like light and live peaceful with one another, even at home, in the market and work places, as well avoid malice with neighbours.
According to her, mothers can be difference by teaching their children good attitudes, stressed the need for them to respect their husbands, exhibit genuine love and forgive those who offended them. The preacher stressed that the world is full of revenge, therefore, she advised the women to make a difference by forgiving others, cultivate the life of humanity. She emphasized that women must not compromise against the scriptural directives.
The priest in charge, Reverend Chinedu Johnson charged Christian women to emulate Christ in their daily activities and prayed that God will help them reject immorality, but sustain those attitude that glorify God.
In her short speech, the president of the women ministry, deaconess Chidinma Onyeodi charged women to sustain their roles in the society. Mrs Onyeodi insisted that women have become strong supporters in their families, work places as well as in various churches and boosted that mothers have played good part to ensure that things are done properly.
The women spiced the event with drama, entertainment news, thanksgiving, discussions, worship songs, praises and Bible recitation cordinated by deaconess Chidinma Ukata and pastor Mrs Johnson.
