Abia harmonized taskforce directs parks operators, traders to move to govt approved places

Abia State Government has given operators of Motor Parks along Abia
Tower Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway up to Tuesday next week to move to Ohiya Bus Terminal.

The Chairman, Abia State harmonized Task, Force and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu who gave the
directive when he led members of the harmonized Tasks Force to the area, warned that the present administration will no longer tolerate proliferation of
illegal motor parks which undermines the aesthetics of the State Capital.

The Commissioner who also visited Ohiya Bus Terminal, Okigwe Park and Aba Park described the parks as conducive for motor business, pointing out that
all illegal motor parks should as a matter of urgency move to the parks for their
businesses.

He warned that going forward, any person or persons operating Illegal Park or engaging in activities that undermine the good intension of the present
administration to reposition the state and streamline business activities will be
arrested and arraigned before the Mobile Court.

Also speaking, the General Manager Umuahia Capital Development Authority
and Member of the Steering Committee of the harmonized Task Force, Mr.
Kingsley Agomoh disclosed that the agency will soon commence removal of illegal structures and shanties along the express tower, Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway to enhance the aesthetics of the area.

Mr. Agomoh advised the transporters and traders in their own interest to
move to Government Approved Motor Parks at Okigwe Parks, Ohiya and Aba Parks, adding that government will make the parks comfortable for them pending
the realization of the Central Mega Motor Park for the State Capital by
Government.

The Umuahia Capital Development Authority General Manager encouraged Abians and those doing business in the state to support the genuine efforts of the
Dr. Alex Otti led administration in putting in place infrastructure that will enhance
the development of the state as well as pay their taxes and levies to government.

National Watch reports that the Mayor of Umuahia North, Chief Victor lkeji, that of Umuahia South, Mr. Obike Nnochiru, General Manager ASEPA,
Mr. Ogbonnaya Okereke SSA to the Governor on IGR, Mr. Chimeremeze Okeigbo were also part of the harmonized Task Force team.
