Traditional rulers have been identified as the eye of government that need the support of their subjects to function better.

The executive chairman of Ikwuano local government area, Chief Steven Mpamugo stated this when Agbalaozu Autonomous Community, Umugbalu Oboro in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State rolled out their drums during the presentation of Chief Dr Ikechukwu Ogbonnaya as their Eze elect.
He commended the community for not allowing a vacuum and charged the community to give their Eze the full support he deserves when he is presented with staff of office by the state governor.
The chairman also warned Agbalaozu Autonomous Community, Umugbalu Oboro not to gang up against their traditional ruler and applauded them for peaceful election that produced Chief Ogbonnaya, urging them to ensure peace in their community.
Eze Elect
Speaking earlier, the president general of Agbalaozu Autonomous Community, Umugbalu Oboro Ikwuano, Chief Otisi Ndubuisi Samuel while presenting the Eze elect, said their Dr Ogbonnaya is a responsible and highly respected son of Agbalaozu.

He added that their Eze who is highly educated, has contributed to the development of their community.
On his part, Chief Chris Amaefula who described the Eze elect as his cousin and friend, noted that the community has absolute confidence that their Eze elect would perform well.
Chief Amaefula said he is so deeply to God that the day was realized.
His words, “it is not a small feat, you can see that the his community people trooped out en mass to show their solidarity”.
“That is to show up that the entire Umuagbalu community want him to be their traditional ruler”
He maintained that Eze Ogbonnaya will break some new grounds and take Umugbalu to a higher place more than expected, as well give them quality leadership.
“He will give them good leadership that people have not seen anywhere before because you don’t give what you don’t have”
He will give his people quality leadership bearing in mind that and has all it takes to lead well, he is an Analytical Chemist, so he has analytical mind and can think anyway out to solve it even critical issues. He has been in the University for over forty years and has all it takes to give the people what they want.
Chief Chris Amaefula maintained that the University Don, tested, and Eze elect, Chief Dr Ikechukwu Ogbonnaya has created people and developed people, assuring that the way he has created people out there, he will do it for his community, in all ramification, he will do well.
