APGA to commence Ward, LGA & State Congresses in Abia May 17

The All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, says the National Working Committee, NWC of the party has released the time table of the party’s ward, state and national congresses.

Abia State Chairman of APGA, Reverend Augustine Ehiemere confirmed this to newsmen after the party’s state working committee meeting at their state secretariat off Azikiwe road Umuahia.

He appreciated the APGA family in the state and urged them to be focused, remain resolute and embrace peace for the success of their congress from ward to the national convention.

Reverend Ehiemere maintained that he is still in charge, encouraging people to maintain their respect for the party.

Speaking earlier, the publicity secretary of the party, Comrade Simeon Chinedu Onyeje said that the ward congress will hold on May 17th, local government areas congress May 20th, the state and zonal 23rd of May, while the national convention will be on 31st of May, 2023.

Onyeje stated that the decisions were taken at the state council executive meeting, comprising state working committee members, local government area party chairmen and secretaries.

He disclosed that the party also deliberated on the report of the adhoc committees constituted to engage aggrieved party members who may have stayed away from party activities after the primaries.

According to him, they also discussed the report of the committee that met with the party candidates after the last general elections. The adhoc committees were constituted earlier by the state chairman, Rev Augustine Ehiemere.

He listed those involved in the adhoc committees to include the party caucus, stakeholders among others, whose primary aim was to bring peace, meet the aggrieved party members, party candidates that were not happy with the outcome of the last general elections.

His words “the executives of ward, local government and state offices were zoned within the three senatorial zones of Abia State. All offices were zoned to all senatorial districts of the state”.
In all, APGA said they are standing strong and the current state working committee has done a lot to unify the party”.

The publicity secretary noted that the current leadership of APGA led by Ehiemere has done a lot to unify the party, stressing that it is in the atmosphere of peace that progress and development can be met. The party released the zoning of positions this:
