I Have Something Extra to Offer, Prof Ikonne Speaks as He Joins Abia 2023 Guber Race

The rumoured PDP anointed aspirant for Abia State 2023 Guber race and former vice chancellor of Abia State University, Uturu, Professor Uche Ikonne has boosted that he has something extra to offer to Abians than other aspirants who have declared their interest to Govern the state.
Professor Ikonne disclosed this while addressing people’s democratic party, PDP state working committee and supporters at the party headquarters, finbars road Umuahia.
Ikonne who is a professor of Optometry said he has the experience, maturity and excellence to deliver the mandate of the PDP, having acquired the nuances of administration. He added that Abia if entrusted into his hands would have no reason to regret, having served as an astute manager on rescue mission as Rector of Abia State polytechnic, Aba and Vice Chancellor of ABSU and other administrative experience.
According to him, the qualities of leadership Abians want are in him, as a good administrator and academician. He promised to galvanize and touch those areas of governance that will promote the interest of all, with firm promise to harness Abia resources for human and infrastructural development.
Professor Ikonne said the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has laid a good foundation for development and therefore, solicited the support of party leaders and people at the grassroot to continue from there, stressing that he is proponent of rhetoric, (Ahu-na-anya, Ekwe) “when you see, you believe.
Responding, the state chairman of PDP, Rt Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere reiterated that the party would give all aspirants equal opportunity during the primaries and urged Professor Ikonne to continue consulting in a civil manner.
He expressed happiness on the quality of aspirants that have declared interest to run for Governorship under the platform of PDP.
