NOA Calls for Collaboration to Ensure Credible Polls in Abia

The state director National Orientation Agency (NOA), Abia State, Lady Chibuogwu Edede has commended traditional rulers in the state for their supportive role in mobilizing their subjects during the PVC collection exercise.

Lady Chibuogwu Edede made the assertion when she paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the chairman Umuahia North traditional ruler council, HRH Eze John Onyebuchi Ibezim of Amauzukwu-Ibeku and HRM Eze Iheanyichukwu Abel Ezeigbo of Umuchime Amanso Autonomous community Ossah-Ibeku.

The NOA Director said they were in the palace of the traditional rulers to identify with the traditional institution considering the important role they play in their communities. She charged the people to use their PVCs to vote candidates of their choice who will bring positive change and dividends of democracy to the people.

Lady Edede urged parents not to allow politicians use their children as agents to ferment trouble in the forthcoming general Elections rather they should come out en mass to vote the candidates of their choice. She also used the occasion of the visit to encourage the people to exercise patience with the government over the ongoing monetary policy and called for the support of the traditional rulers.

In their reactions, HRH Eze John Onyebuchi Ibezim of Amuzukwu-Ibeku and HRM Eze Iheanyichukwu Abel Ezeigbo of Umuchime Amanso Ossah Autonomous communities commended the new State Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA) Abia State on her appointment and the respect she has accorded the traditional institution and pledge to partner with the agency in sensitising and mobilising the people to vote during elections.

The traditional rulers frowned at the pace at which the exchange of the new naira note was being handled in the country and called for more proactive measures that will help to ameliorate the suffering of the masses and also faulted the way and manner the personal voters cards were distributed.
In a vote of thanks the traditional prime of Amuzukwu-Ibeku, Elder Chief Darlington Umuanakwa commend the commitment of NOA, especially now that the 2023 general Elections are around the corner.
