Abiapoly Calamity: Gov Ikpeazu Constitutes Committee to Restore Accreditation

Following the withdrawal of accreditation of Abia State polytechnic Aba by National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the constitution of a taskforce to restore the Accreditation of the state Polytechnic within 30days. 
In a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, the governor names membership of the taskforce to include;
Professor Ikechi Mgboji as Chairman, Dr. John Nwadioha – member, Hon. Jude Udeachara- member, Rev.Fr. Kelechi Anyanwu member, Mrs Love Ezema Member and  SUG President of Abia state Polytechnic, Mr Stanley Nwankpa as member.
As part of the measure to reposition the institution, Abia state Government further announced the immediate dissolution and suspension of the council and management of the institution.
Governor Ikpeazu while appealing to the students of Abia state Polytechnic and other well meaning Abians to remain calm, noted that the state government views the decision of NBTE against the institution as very embarrassing and capable of destablizing the current peace and harmony existing in the state, as the fate of the students of the institution appears to be jeopardized by the said action.
According to him, it must be placed on record that Academic activities have been ongoing in the institution without interruptions; adding that the teachers and staff of Abia state Polytechnic were not on strike and have remained committed to their duties.
