APC: Forum of Former Dep Govs Demand recognition in National Working Committee

The forum of former deputy governors has demanded to be included as members of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress.

They made the demand at a meeting with the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje while on a solidarity visit to the party secretariat in Abuja.

Chairman of the forum, and former deputy governor of Abia State, Comrade Chris Akomas noted that former deputy governors have the needed experience and expertise required by the party’s highest decision marking organ.

According to the Federal Commissioner representing Abia at Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission Abuja, the forum is organised in such a way and manner that they recognise that they are politicians to make sure that they remain focussed on the unity, progress and stability of the country, and above all, for the general good of Nigerians.

The forum thanked President Tinubu president for finding some of them worthy to be given federal appointments in his administration.

With over 60 registered members, Comrade Akomas declared that members of the forum are serious minded people who work tirelessly for the party and therefore deserve adequate recognition.

Responding, the party national chairman welcomed them to his office even as he stated that as a political party, the APC leadership is interested on what happens in governance and the political party as an institution.

Ganduje stated that the position and importance of the deputy governor, although most controversial in the country’s politics, cannot be over emphasized

He attributed most problems between governors and their deputies as majorly coming from sycophants within the corridors of power while describing the situation as unfortunate.

Ganduje promised to look into their prayers along with the party leadership since all hands are needed on deck to, not just move the party, but also the nation, forward.
