The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abia South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Erondu Erondu, has expressed appreciation to party members and supporters following his victory in the party’s recently concluded senatorial primaries.
Erondu emerged winner of the APC primary with 15,982 votes, defeating fellow aspirants Anyim Nyerere, Blessing Nwagba, and Paul Ikonne.
Speaking after receiving his Certificate of Return at the APC Secretariat, Erondu described the exercise as keenly contested but peaceful, stressing that there was “no victor and no vanquished.”

According to him, the outcome of the primary reflects the unity and strength of the APC, which he described as one family united by a common vision for the development of Abia South.
He said his co-contestants remain members of the same political family, adding that they all share a common desire to improve the lives of the people of the district.
Erondu stated that his years of experience in public service and different government positions have equipped him with the knowledge and understanding required for effective representation in the Senate. He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.
The APC flagbearer stressed the need for a new direction in the district, assuring constituents that no community or group would be neglected if elected Senator representing Abia South.
While acknowledging the efforts of past representatives of the district, Erondu maintained that the time had come for a fresh approach to leadership and representation.
He also expressed optimism ahead of a possible contest against Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, saying he had committed the journey into God’s hands.
Popularly known as the “Empowerment Master,” Erondu said representation should focus on bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people. He promised to use his experience in public service and empowerment programmes to make the people of Abia South proud if elected.
He further commended the Abia APC for conducting what he described as peaceful, free, fair, and credible primaries, while urging party members who did not secure tickets to remain loyal and work together for the success of the party. Erondu also thanked his supporters for their encouragement and belief in his vision for Abia South.
